Cookie Policy

1. Scope of this page

Under French law, article 82 of the loi Informatique et Libertés (implementing the ePrivacy directive) covers any reading or writing of information on a user's device — not only cookies. This page is written to that standard: it covers both the cookies set by intelligenceads.io itself, and the browser storage written by the Intelligence/Ads Tracker when a customer installs it on their own website. We do not use the absence of cookies to avoid describing what is actually stored — Section 3 below states plainly that no cookie is set by the Tracker, and then documents the browser storage it uses instead.

2. Cookies on intelligenceads.io

When you sign in to the Intelligence/Ads dashboard, we set two cookies to keep you signed in. Both are HttpOnly (unreadable to JavaScript running on the page), SameSite=Lax, and Secure in production.

CookiePurposeLifetime
access_tokenAuthenticates your requests to the dashboard.~14 minutes
refresh_tokenUsed server-side only, to silently renew your session without asking you to log in again.Up to 30 days

Both cookies are strictly necessary to provide the sign-in you explicitly request when you use the dashboard; we do not set any advertising, analytics, or third-party cookie on intelligenceads.io itself. If you go through Stripe Checkout or the Stripe customer portal to manage a subscription, those hosted pages run on stripe.com and are governed by Stripe's own cookie policy, not this one.

3. Storage used by the Intelligence/Ads Tracker

This section applies to websites where a customer of ours has installed the Intelligence/Ads Tracker. The Tracker sets no cookies. It writes the following values to the visitor's browser storage:

KeyStoragePurposeLifetime
iads_visitor_idlocalStorageA random identifier distinguishing repeat visits from the same browser on the same device.Until the visitor clears their browser storage — no automatic expiry is set.
iads_session_<date>sessionStorageA random identifier grouping the page views of one browsing session together.Cleared when the browser tab/window session ends; a new key is minted each calendar day.
iads_referrer_initialsessionStorageThe first referrer seen in the session, used to attribute the session to how the visitor arrived.Same as the session identifier above.

None of these values are shared with advertising networks, and the Tracker does not read or set any third-party cookie or storage. The visitor identifier is scoped to one browser on one device — it is not used to link the same person across browsers, devices, or unrelated websites.

Because this storage is written on the website of our customer, and for our customer's purposes, the website operator — not Intelligence/Ads — is the data controller responsible for the legal basis of this storage and for any consent notice or banner required on their site. Where that website forwards us the visitor's choice from its own consent banner (as a consent_update event), we record it as an observed fact; it does not itself change whether the Tracker writes to storage.

4. Managing storage

Since the Tracker sets no cookies, there is no cookie-consent banner to manage on our own site for it. A visitor can clear localStorage and sessionStorage for any site at any time through their browser's settings (usually under "Privacy" or "Site data"), which removes the values described above and resets the visitor identifier on their next visit.

5. More detail

For what this data is used for once collected, how long it is kept, and who else may process it, see our Privacy Policy. For questions about this page, contact support@intelligenceads.io.
