Realtime

Where are your paid clicks landing right now?

A map of the last twenty-four hours with a live edge. Every paid arrival stands at its city, carrying the campaign that paid for it, the connection it came from, and what the session has done since it landed.

8 arrivals on screen

One evening of a demo site: 1,447 arrivals across ninety-six cities, the day’s shape under the map, and the last fourteen minutes at the bottom. The globe is not the hero — the city list beside it is the same geography in words, because a canvas must not be the only way to read a page.

Demo workspace, fictitious data.

The day is the picture, not the firehose

At the volumes this product actually sees, a stream of events is a black screen most of the time. So the surface is the trailing twenty-four hours — every city that sent a paid click, standing and sized by what it sent — and the live part is the edge on top of it. An arrival brightens its city for a moment and settles back into the day.

One row per arrival, in plain facts

When it landed, the campaign that paid for it, where it resolved to, the connection behind it, the page it opened on. A masked connection is stated exactly like a home one — same ink, same row, no adjective. The city is a centroid, never a point: it is what the address resolves to, and a finer marker would claim a placement nobody has.

What the click gained since, and nothing more

A row accretes: a second page, an engagement signal, a conversion. It is never rewritten and there is no dwell counter, because this product observes the last event and not whether anyone is still on the site — “active now” is the one thing this page will not print. A fresh arrival that has done nothing gets a dash.

The refusal

Live is not something we sell you back.

Every plan sees arrivals as they land, the free one included — the same map, the same cities, the same rows, the same fields. What differs is the delivery: a free workspace refreshes every sixty seconds, a paid one holds a stream at about one second. That is a cadence, not a delay. Nothing is held back and put in front of you later.

Sixty seconds was not picked to sting either. It is the cadence the rest of the product already refreshes at, it keeps every label on the page true, and at the free plan’s own event allowance the arrivals are about thirty-five minutes apart — a reader there cannot perceive the difference. Which is exactly why this was never built as an artificial five-minute lag on the free tier: the boundary is what a held connection costs us, and it is written on the wire as a number the page prints rather than as a feature flag you have to trust us about.

The window is fixed at twenty-four hours on every plan, and it is the one place in the product where a wider plan buys you nothing — deliberately. A page called Realtime that could be asked for two years would be a contradiction in its own title and a full-table scan on the one screen people leave open all day. There is no period control here for the same reason.
