Google Ads
Connect a Google Ads account to read what Google charged next to the paid clicks your site observed — what is imported, what is never written, and how to remove it.
Updated October 27, 2026
Connectors import what an ad platform reports about your campaigns — spend, charged clicks, the clicks it filtered as invalid and, on Google, the ad group and keyword behind each click — and read it next to the paid clicks your site observed. Google Ads is the first platform. The connection is read-only: nothing is ever written back.
Connect an account
Open Settings → Connectors in your workspace and choose Connect Google Ads. Google's own sign-in page asks you to allow read access to your Google Ads data; once you accept, you come back to Intelligence/Ads and choose:
- The account. A manager account is listed with its accounts under it; you pick one of those accounts, not the manager. An account already connected to the workspace is marked "Connected".
- The sites it feeds. An account can feed several sites, and a site can be fed by several accounts. On a workspace with one site, that site is already checked.
The account then appears in the list as importing. Connectors are included from the Solo plan; the number of accounts follows the plan.
What is imported
- Per campaign and per day, in the account's own time zone: impressions, charged clicks, the clicks Google reported as invalid, spend in the account's currency, and Google's own conversion count.
- Per click, for the clicks Google lists: the campaign, ad group, keyword and match type, device and network type the click was served under. Google keeps these details for 90 days, so the first import reaches 90 days back.
Spend is shown in the account's currency and is never converted; two currencies are shown as two lines, never added up.
What is never written
Nothing. Intelligence/Ads does not change a campaign, a bid, a budget, a keyword or an exclusion, and does not upload conversions to Google.
The list of accounts
Each row says which account it is (its name and Google's customer id), its currency, the sites it feeds, who granted it, and its status as a fact: "Importing · 41 of 90 days", "Synced 12m ago", "Needs sign-in again", "Paused". Each site also shows the accounts that feed it under Site settings → Platforms.
From a row's menu an owner or admin can sync it now, change the sites it feeds, or pause and resume its imports.
Remove an account
The owner removes an account from its row's menu. The grant is revoked at Google and every figure imported from that account is deleted. Connecting it again later imports what Google still keeps.
Questions
- Does Intelligence/Ads change anything in my Google Ads account?
- No. The connection is read-only. Nothing is ever written to Google Ads — no campaign, bid, budget, keyword, exclusion or conversion.
- Who can connect an account?
- An owner or an admin of the workspace. Removing a connected account is the owner's.
- What happens if the person who connected the account leaves the workspace?
- The grant is that person's sign-in. When Google stops accepting it, the account's status reads "Needs sign-in again", and an owner or admin signs in again from the same page; the sites it feeds are kept.
- Why do the charged clicks and the paid clicks differ?
- Charged clicks are Google's count; paid clicks are the clicks that reached your site with their click id. Both are printed side by side, each labelled with whose figure it is. A difference is a fact to read, not a verdict on the traffic.
