Notifications
Every email Intelligence/Ads sends you, the four kinds that carry a switch, and the ones that are always sent.
Updated October 27, 2026
The Notifications page of your account lists every kind of email the product sends you. Four kinds carry a switch, saved the moment you flip it: Site activity, Plan allowance, Weekly digest and Automatic detection. Security codes, workspace invitations and billing mail have no switch, and the page names them so the first list is honest. Nothing here is a configurable alert: there is no threshold to set here, and the one rule-driven email, Automatic detection, follows rules written on a site's Signatures page.
Access
Notifications is one of the five rows of the Account group in the rail, and of the user menu: Profile, Security, Billing, Notifications, Support. The header carries the eyebrow Account, the title Notifications and the line Which emails we send you, and which ones you can turn off. The Docs link beside the eyebrow opens this page in a new tab.
The preferences belong to your account, not to a workspace. One person in three workspaces has one set of switches, and a switch applies to every workspace that person is an owner or an admin of.
On a wide screen the two sections below sit on the left, and on the right the Your account card every account page shares: your sign-in email, your two-factor method as a pill (Authenticator app, or Email code only), how many workspaces you belong to, and the date you joined. Security is where the two-factor method is changed.
If the page cannot read your account when it loads, it shows every switch on, which is the default.
Emails you can turn off
The first section's line reads One switch per kind of email, saved as you flip it. Its card holds four rows, in this order, each with a help line and a switch:
| Row | Help line |
|---|---|
| Site activity | A site was added, received its first event, or stopped sending after being live. |
| Plan allowance | When your workspace approaches its monthly event allowance, and when it passes it. |
| Weekly digest | A Monday summary of last week's paid clicks and the campaigns that moved most. |
| Automatic detection | One email per new group of paid clicks found by a signature rule with automatic detection on. |
A caption beside each switch reads On or Off. Flipping a switch saves it at once, and a Saved mark with a check appears beside the section's line. If the save fails, the switch returns to its previous position and a message above the card says why. There is no Save button. Every switch is on by default, and a switch governs a kind of email, not one email.
Site activity
Three moments in a site's life, each one email.
| Subject | When it is sent | Who receives it |
|---|---|---|
{name} was added — install the snippet to go live | When a site is created in a workspace. | The person who added the site. |
First event received from {domain} | When the site's first event ever arrives. | The workspace's owners and admins. |
{name} stopped sending events | When a site that was receiving has had no event for 24 hours. | The workspace's owners and admins. |
The first email names the site, its domain and its workspace, and its button opens the workspace, where the setup screen hands you the snippet. Install the tracker is the reference for that screen.
The second names the site and its domain; its button, Open the live monitor, opens the site's Overview.
The third states the last event's time, in UTC, and lists plausible causes: a deploy that dropped the snippet, a tag-manager container republished without it, a consent banner change, or simply a quiet stretch on the site. It is a report, not a diagnosis. It is sent once per quiet stretch; a site that goes quiet a second time is reported a second time. A site that never received an event is never reported quiet.
Plan allowance
Two emails about the workspace's monthly event allowance, both sent to the workspace's owners and admins, each at most once per workspace and month. Plans and billing explains the allowance itself.
| Subject | When it is sent |
|---|---|
{org} has used {percent} of its monthly events | The month reaches 80 percent of the allowance. |
{org} reached its monthly event allowance | The month crosses the allowance, on Free. |
{org} passed its monthly event allowance | The month crosses the allowance, on a paid plan. |
The first email says, before anything else, that nothing has changed yet. Its second sentence depends on the plan: on Free, events from the crossing to the end of the month are held back from the dashboard, nothing is dropped and nothing is deleted, and raising the plan lifts the bound; on a paid plan nothing stops, every event stays readable, and the extra is billed per block of events, capped for the month.
The crossing email carries the same split. Both versions show the month's event count, over-allowance events included, next to the allowance and the plan, and the paid version adds the rate past the allowance. Their button opens the workspace's billing page.
A workspace that jumps from under 80 percent to over the allowance at once gets the crossing email and not the warning. An Enterprise workspace gets neither. The email that says an overflow was invoiced is under Billing below.
Weekly digest
One email per workspace and week, on Monday, covering the Monday-to-Sunday week that has just ended. Its subject is {clicks} clicks last week on {site}, followed by the week's trend in parentheses when the week carried at least 100 paid clicks.
The body is one number and three rows: last week's paid clicks with the change against the week before, then up to three campaigns ranked by last week's clicks, each with its network, its clicks and its change (a percentage, new, or stopped). The button opens the site's Overview. There is no commentary, no recommendation and no verdict about a campaign.
The digest is part of the Solo, Growth, Agency and Enterprise plans; a Free or Starter workspace gets none, whatever this switch says. The switch is each recipient's own answer, and the recipients are the workspace's owners and admins. The digest covers the workspace's oldest active site, and a week with no paid clicks on it sends no digest.
Automatic detection
One email per new group of paid clicks found by a signature rule that has automatic detection on. Its subject is Your rule "{rule}" found a group of paid clicks. The body names the site, then the group's block, the shared trait (the rule's conditions), its paid clicks and the expected count for the same audience over the 28 days before; the Open the group button opens the group's own page on Signatures. A group that grows afterwards is not mailed again. There is no verdict in the email: what the clicks have in common, what can be inferred and what is not known are on the group's page.
Rules are read every morning, on the 7 days that ended the day before. Automatic detection is part of every paid plan; a Free workspace writes no rule of its own, so it gets none. The recipients are the workspace's owners and admins. This switch is each recipient's own answer; the switch on a rule stops its emails for everyone, and its footer says so.
Always sent
The second section's line reads No switch: these prove control of your account, carry an access grant, or state a fact about your subscription. Its card holds three rows, each with the caption Always on where a switch would be.
| Row | Help line |
|---|---|
| Security | Sign-in codes, password resets, and the welcome email. These prove control of your inbox. |
| Workspace invitations | An invitation to join a workspace. It carries the access grant itself. |
| Billing | A plan change or a failed payment — facts about your subscription and what your workspace can read. |
Security. {code} — verify your IntelligenceAds email is sent when you register, and {code} — your IntelligenceAds sign-in code when a sign-in asks for an email code. Reset your IntelligenceAds password is sent from the forgot-password form, with the code and a button to the reset page. Welcome to IntelligenceAds is sent once, the first time your email is verified. The forgot-password form and the email-code sign-in answer the same way whether or not the address has an account.
Workspace invitations. {inviter} invited you to {org} on IntelligenceAds, or You've been invited to join {org} on IntelligenceAds when the inviter has no display name, goes to the invited address with the Accept invitation button. The invitation expires in 7 days, and the email says so. Members and roles covers the invitation itself.
Billing. Three emails, each to the workspace's owners and admins. {org} is now on the {new} plan is sent when the plan changes, up or down, including a subscription that ends and returns the workspace to Free; a downgrade gets one extra paragraph saying that nothing was deleted and that what narrows is the readable window. Payment failed for {org} is sent for each failed charge, and says the plan is unchanged while the card is retried. Invoice for {org}'s extra events in {month} is sent on a paid plan once a closed month's overflow has been invoiced, and states the arithmetic: the events past the allowance, the blocks they came to, the rate, and the amount charged. The invoice and its receipt come from Stripe; the portal that lists them opens from Account billing.
Recipients and footers
Every email about a workspace goes to its owners and admins, never to its members. The one email addressed to a single person is the confirmation that a site was added, which goes to whoever added it.
The four kinds with a switch carry, in their footer, a Manage notifications link to this page and the note You're receiving this because this notification category is on for your account. You can turn it off at any time. An automatic detection email carries the manage link with its own note instead: it was sent because automatic detection is on for the rule, and editing the rule on the site's Signatures page turns it off. Security emails carry the note This is a security message about your IntelligenceAds account. and no manage link. An invitation or a billing email carries neither.
What this page does not do
- It offers no configurable alert. There is no threshold, no rule, no per-site or per-campaign subscription here, and no email about a visitor or a connection. The only email about a group of paid clicks is Automatic detection, and it follows the rules written on a site's Signatures page. The four switches above are the whole of it.
- It offers no per-workspace preference. One account, one set of switches, whatever the number of workspaces.
- It offers no switch over security, invitation or billing email.
- It offers no per-email switch. A switch covers a kind of email.
- It carries no marketing choice, because there is no marketing email: every email the product sends is one of those named above.
- It governs email only. There is no in-app notification feed.
- It does not copy you on your own support request. The support form's message goes to the Intelligence/Ads inbox, with your address as the reply-to.
Questions
- I am on Free and never receive the weekly digest. Is my switch broken?
- No. The digest is part of the Solo, Growth, Agency and Enterprise plans; a Free or Starter workspace never gets one, whatever the switch says. The switch only says whether you, as a recipient, want the digest a plan already includes.
- A member of my workspace did not receive the email about a site that stopped sending. Why?
- Workspace emails go to the workspace's owners and admins. A member is read-only, and a plan boundary, a failed charge or a quiet site are things only an owner or an admin can act on. The one exception is the email that confirms a site was added, which goes to the person who added it.
- Can I set an alert when a campaign or a connection changes?
- No. There is no configurable alert in the product: no threshold to set, no rule to write, no per-site or per-campaign subscription. The three switches on this page are the whole of what can be turned on or off.
- My workspace is over its allowance. Does the email arrive every hour?
- No. Each allowance email is sent at most once per workspace and month: once when the month reaches 80 percent of the allowance, once when it crosses it. The next month starts from zero.
- Do I need to press Save?
- No. A switch is saved the moment you flip it, and a Saved mark appears beside the section's line. If the save fails, the switch returns to its previous position and a message above the card says why.
